SmartGen | Application of ESSA215-768-05C Energy Storage System

The energy storage market consists of the power supply side, power grid side, and user side based on application scenarios. On the user side, the primary applications are industrial and commercial energy storage, as well as residential energy storage. The main distinction between these applications lies in their different customer bases. In China, the user-side market is predominantly industrial and commercial energy storage.

Industry and commerce represent the largest electricity market in China, characterized by high electricity rates and significant load fluctuations. With the ongoing reforms in China’s electricity market and the shift towards distributed energy, industrial and commercial energy storage is poised to play a crucial role. Currently, the applications of industrial and commercial energy storage include: Medium-Sized Industrial and Commercial Sites: These sites install either independent Energy Storage Systems (ESS) or integrated ESS with photovoltaic (PV) systems and charging stations. The PV system generates power to meet internal demand, while the ESS facilitates peak load shifting and load management, reducing power consumption costs and providing emergency backup power supply.Energy-Intensive Enterprises: Industries such as steelworks, cement plants, power plants, and petroleum refineries have substantial power demands and heavy loads, which are not constrained by the end-user electricity rates. New Applications: Emerging applications include data centers, 5G base stations, battery-swap heavy trucks, and shore power at ports.

Recently, the 100KW/215KWh distributed industrial and commercial energy storage system customized by SmartGen for a factory was successfully installed after commissioning. With the SmartGen energy management system of HMU8N-EMS, it can charge the ESS in the off-peak period, and discharge in the peak period, so as to make peak load shifting, and reduce the energy costs.

ESSA215-768-05C energy storage system cabinet is a Li-ion battery energy storage equipment developed by SmartGen, and it integrates with energy management system of HMU8N-EMS, battery management system of HBCU200 master module and HBMU200 slave module, high voltage control box of HVB1000-200, battery pack of BM16-280-A/B.
